Communal garden - council keeps destroying our plants

Posted: 12/05/2013 at 10:28

As the flats are private, I'd put up a notice saying "Trespassers will be prosecuted and that includes council groundsmen! Joking aside, could you not put up some kind of fence between your property and the path? I would send the council a bill for the destroyed plants!

Have a look at these, Dean

They all say more or less the same things, so I think you can go by what they say.

Good luck with your tree fern and enjoy!

MORNING FORKERS

I'm not fat, I've just got big bones!

Have just checked my carrot tapes, nothing there after 3 weeks, so planted another row, here's hoping. Also a row of parsnips. Last year I overplanted them with lettuce as after a month nothing had happened. I ended up with 4 parsnips growing in between the lettuce. Didn't know then that they take ages to germinate. Patience is a virtue!

My trick is to leave a tissue in a pocket, even after checking.

A favourite here, especially in a black load, grrrrr!

Swifts

Super, Welshonion. Next door neighbour has 4 swift nesting boxes under the eaves, just saw the first ones arrive today too! They come every year almost on the same date.

Hey, thanks Daniel, now that I think about it, could have just tried it out and see what happens!

I've been on this site for quite a while now, but I've wondered that myself, I'm glad you asked, maybe someone can explain!

I put tagetes between my tomatoes, not sure if they do anything though, toms seem to be the same with  or without.

Good morning all, bloody spam, don't give up Andy, we'll miss you!

Am in limbo at the moment, everything I can plant out is done and all the rest are waiting to grow big enough or it's not warm enough to plant them out. So, just pottering around killing weeds and watching things grow.
