MORNING FORKERS

Posted: 24/03/2013 at 07:36

Morning everyone I hope you are all well.

Oh what an awful couple of days I've had but onwards and up wards as they say

We've still got at least 7-8 inches of snow here, flipping nightmare it is. My car is next to useless in anything deeper than a couple of mm so that's been stranded on the drive since Thursday evening.

I bought some chilli & sweet pepper seeds earlier this week so want to try and sow those today as I believe they should be done quite early. I'm proud to say the tomatoes I sowed a couple of weeks ago have germinated too. I'm obviously doing something right! This seed sowing is pretty addictive isn't it

Ok so there seems to be quite a few problems with the site because I just tried to quote your question cilmeri  in my reply of "yes I do" and it clearly hasn't worked

Talkback: Growing Verbena bonariensis from seed

Posted: 22/03/2013 at 11:22

I planted one plant about 2 years ago and last year I noticed lots of little plants around and about so left them to quietly grow. The plants are still quite small but I'm sure they'll start to grow again WHEN  the weather warms up a bit.

Anyway my question is...I seem to remember reading that they need to be cut down to ground level in the spring. Is this right or was I dreaming

Morning all  we've got 3-4 inches of snow this morning here in Merseyside. Looks pretty but oh the disruption it cause....

Hubby & I will have to brave it and go to clear the drive and paths at our daughter's (she's disabled and unable to do it herself) Luckily he's at home today after working away all week...oh there is a god

Right, off to get the wellies and snow shovel. Speak to you all later.

Ok thank you Rosa for that...so do you cut them down at all in the spring? I have another grass which I know the name of and the care instructions suggest to cut it down in the spring to encourage new growth and just wondered if this was the case with all or most of them. Perhaps I should put this question out in the plants forum to see if anyone has any further advice. You never know we both could learn something about our plants

Oh I know Brian and I am very thankful and in all honesty I wouldn't know what to do with a huge garden so I'll be content with what I've got and make the best I can of it and who know perhaps later this year I'll be posting photos of by beautiful garden
