Cats

Posted: 23/04/2013 at 19:50

I tried the tea bag and muscle spray deterant only last week but the cats just dug them up too and it didn't deter them at all.

We were unsure if it was actually cats doing the digging so my husband rigged up a small camera and we couldn't believe that in a space of just a few night we managed to film 4 different cats using our garden as a toilet.

I spotted one cat doing it's business as I arrived home last night and ran at it to shoo it away and the *****y thing just looked at me, finished relieving it's self then sauntered off. If I knew where the cats lived I'd deposit their cat's doings on their garden!

Tulip & Narcissus bulbs

Someone told me that it's possible to plant spring flowerin bulbs in aquatic pots and plant them in the Autumn then lift them out after flowering, leave them in a quiet corner to die down then repeat the process again.

Is this right or was someone pulling my leg?

Has anyone used wilko's own brand? I've just bought a 60l bag half price at £2.50 I figured it was worth a try at that price!

Strawberry plants dying

Posted: 17/04/2013 at 07:09

I have 2 strawberry plants in pots which I kept in the mini greenhouse over winter. After checking a few weeks ago I thought I'd lost one of them but left it alone and hey ho it's doing just fine now so leave them a while & hopefully they'll recover

Begonia

Ok thank you.

I've just noticed another plant in the same basket has also got flower buds almost open.

I've never had them before but thought they'd grow a little more before they flowered?

Begonia

I planted Begonia bulbs about 3 weeks ago in 2 baskets and put them in a bright, not too hot place as I was advised too. They are starting to come through now but one has grown significantly more than the others and has actually produced a flower. Is this normal or can I - should I do something to try to stop it flowering?

Oh how good to read something possitive here for a change.  So just for the record I too feel happy happy ,happy. So far I've had a lovely day doing what I want to do.No gardeneing for me today but I have enjoyed the last 30 minutes sitting in the conservatory looking out into the garden mentally planning what to do or change out there and watching the birds.  My OH is working happily upstairs in his office and I'm looking forward to my son returning home from his weekend away and hearing all about it. So yes a very happy bunny here
