Aquilegia's Flowering stem

Posted: 03/06/2014 at 13:27

Hi all,

Unfortunately some nasty so and so has been at my pots again. Looks like someone has cut off all the flowers and buds from pretty much everything I have. This included a flowering stem on my aquilegia. I was wondering if it will produce a new one or any other buds on it anywhere? even if not - it should still survive and flower next year right?

Pretty disappointing - but moving to a much nicer area in a few weeks - with a nice big garden to keep all my lovlies safe in too!

to be fair - Clove oil is disgusting smelling! it would make me want to move on too! does the job with a sore tooth though

Added myself. Up in Leeds and in Liverpool - I split my time between the two - surprisingly sparse in both though I thought! maybe thats because i'm still mainly living in the centre of cities... not too much gardening to be had... Nice little project though! Thanks for starting it up!

ahh what a lovely surprise! you'll have to name it after yourself Eva haha would be excellent if the seeds from it grew the same!

Inspiration needed! :)

you could do a rockery with alpine plants maybe? they can be rather small but they do look pretty! I'm also a fan of nasturtiums in hanging baskets.

I think I remember hearing somewhere (probably on here) that they are good for preventing slugs? not too sure why or how... (or if that is actually true...)

YEAH! now that's a good lawn in my books! might not be ideal for a game of boules, but sure does look pretty! might be trying to pinch this idea soon!

What are these little blue flowers?

thanks for all the replies folks! moving to a new house in about a month and a half, will have to see if work doesn't mind me nicking a little patch of them  I think they really make the grass more interesting, and they are so pretty too!

I can't see your pic i'm afraid Kittyrose, I do like the sound of this though - is it a lawn full of daisies basically? I do love when you see huge swathes of them in the park (those and dandelions too)
