New plant this year, no flowering spikes as yet.  Planted bulbs as well only just showing a spike through the ground. I am in suffolk.

When can I put the geraniums out?

I have taken cuttings from my geraniums for the first time. What temperature do I need to keep them at over the winter?

Choisya looks ill

Posted: 08/06/2013 at 09:34

I have a choisya which was planted last year, it flowered and looked as though it was doing o.k. This year although the leaves look healthy it had not grown and there doesn't seem to be any flowers coming. In the same bed is a Hypericum 'Hidcote' and a Viburnum Tinus neither of which is flourishing. Again both these were planted last year, any pointers would be helpful, the broom bushes and potentillas are looking great!

New bulbs for this year, some are flowering at last but a lot do not have any buds at all! Do I leave them and hope they will flower next year, or dig them up and start afresh?

Discovery apple tree

My daughter moved last year and she has a few discovery apple trees in the garden. They did produce apples but the trees seem rather neglected. How can she prune / treat them so they flourish?

Pruning Braeburn apple

We have inheirited an apple tree which seems like it needs some tlc. It is, I am told, a Discovery. There was quite a lot of fruit which we have now picked, wrapped and stored. My question is, a lot of the fruit had been attacked, (wasp, fly, earwig and probably birds as well) how do we prevent this next year? How do we prune the tree as it is quite high. Any other tips would be appreciated. We also have a plum tree which didn't crop well, also don't know what type it is, care tips for this as well please.

Thank you, it is (not) growing in the ground, I put some bone meal in the hole.

New Hibiscus not shooting

Just twigs, no buds. The Hibiscus syiacus is an Oiseau Blue, I bought it from a local nursery about two months ago ( along with several other shrubs). All the other plants are growing nicely but the Hibiscus has not moved at all. Each shrub had some bone
