It can grow quite big, My Kent Belle has survived for about 10 years , really easy to strike cuttings. I grew some megaponticum from seed last year and they are about 150cm, survived -5C,but we are by the sea in Cornwall so generally mild. They like full sun and seem tolerant of very sharp drainage. Give it a go but take some cuttings in late summer just in case.
