Good Evening FORKERS

Posted: Today at 20:48

Welcome home GG.  Shame about the weather, but still a lovely place to be.  Hope it was dry even though cold.

Started out warm here so I thought I really must get on with finishing off sifting the rubble.  Did two more bags of rubble and had had enough.  Had turned cold too. Came in, put the heating on and a couple of hours later, it turned warm again.  So out I went, dug up some roots of shrubs I have growing at the back and planted them elsewhere.  Not sure if they will survive, sorted shed and then had had enough.  Now ache from head to toe - again!!  Pleased with my handiwork. Don't drink, so am awarding myself a kitkat and a glass of juice.  Big deal.

Sentimental Tool

My fork was my Mum's.  She's been gone now for nearly 34 years and I never remember her using anything different.  Still have one remaining spade of my Dad's equally as old and a galvanised watering can. Fortunately, my eldest son treasures anything that was my Dad's so has taken all his old tools, etc, which I had kept for 26 years and they are now sitting in his shed.  My Dad took great care of tools so I have no idea how old they all are. Found a few more the other day when having a clear out. Feel sorry for his wife.

God made rain so gardeners could get housework done.

Found it, not mine!!

MORNING FORKERS

Posted: Today at 10:32

Morning all.  Bit overcast, but warmish.  Must get myself off this sofa and outside otherwise I will turn into stone.

Spent many lovely holidays in Cornwall not always in the best of weathers!  Remember vividly on one occasion when we got the tail end of a hurricane in America.  Was very scarey.  Mevagissy was a must every year.  My favourite place is Looe where I would love to visit out of school holidays!! My problem now is the travelling.

Hope you do well Andy and I loved the azalea. Makes me want to try again as I never seem to get it right.

Hi gels. Had a strange day.  Did housework.  Was going out at about 6 to sift a bit of earth but granddaughter turned up so it didn't get done. Not been that good today being overcast and threatening rain. It is really cold again tonight.

I'm glad you had some good weather today FG and were able to get things done.  How did you get on with B&Q and delivery charges.

Do you think Verdun might be having dinner with Queenie.  He's been very quiet today.

I've been a smarty pants James and you are now on the map.

MOB rants

Frank,  I gave up my car in the end as I began to feel so intimidated by other drivers.  It made me nervous and I realised I could cause an accident by being hesitant.  Do miss it sometimes when I feel like a trip to the GC or any of these out of town stores, but with a little bus now stopping right outside my door (hail and ride) and cabs, I have got by.  Online shopping is great.

Just a bit reliant on the whims of my kids

It's good to see that he's moved closer to land.  Obviously no 'bites' where he was before. Is he in a row boat do you think?

I so agree with you Frank about mobile phone use in cars.  It really bothers me when mine use them but say they are hands free.  I am still of the opinion that you cannot have a phone conversation and concentrate on the road.  It's not the same as chatting to a passenger where they are aware when to shut up. Call me old fashioned but that's my view.

I watched a programme the other night about youngsters being videoed whilst driving, without them knowing.  Newish drivers with passengers.  Made my hair curl.  Long time ago I know and I was 32 when I decided to drive, but I needed total silence at first so I could keep my mind on what I was doing.

Well, you can tell I'm not right in the head today because I have been a domestic godess and haven't finished yet.  It can be a dangerous job you know.  Sent the TV flying, sucked up some wires and a sock, (didn't see it under the bed).  Do you think it's time to take down Mother's Day cards?

Enjoy your break Bev.
