Thanks for the warning Frank but I don't need it.

I've heard of them Matty and was, at one time, going to be referred, but the pain turned out to be something more serious. Do hope that you get what you need.  Constant pain is really wearing isn't it.

Verdun, I hope when you are at the food bank you will think if those 18 donoughts you ate yesterday. Shame on you.

I wish we had some more 'smilies'.

Good for you Puncdoc.  Hope it turns out OK.

Matty, I do hope the doc is sympathetic to your pain.  Some try to poohoo pain and tell you you just have to put up with it 'at your age'.  Hope I haven't put my foot in it!!  I have a fabulous doc who never messes about with try this and try that but immediately sets the wheels in motion to find out what's causing a problem.  Ni idea what I will do if she decides to move on. Mind you, don't have to see her that often.  Once so far this year!

I have had a disaster yesterday.  Son asked if I could wash a particular pair of jeans as he's going away tomorrow.  I know, he should do these things himself. Anyway, was dozing away and suddenly thought had I changed dial from doing hot wash.  Nooooooooo!!!!!  Well he tried them on this morning and said they felt a bit tighter.  Don't know how he can say that as they look like they're painted on his legs anyway.  He then proceeded to tell me they cost £190!! Looked at the label, made in Taiwan. So he's paid £180 for a designer label cos we all know they are dirt cheap to be made.  Blooming ridiculous.

Painted 1and a half walls and had enough.  Do the rest another day.  Now have 'Pulsating' nails with creamy masonary paint all over them.

Just you and me Bev!  Won't even be able to rely on beating you either if your meeting goes OK, which I hope it does. Good luck.

A rant about the wastage within the NHS.

Whilst I was at hospital yesterday, sipped away at my coffee,  I listened to the nurses chatting about what was going on within the hospital.  This is my local one where they have already closed A&E and Maternity and, anyone with any sense can see, will eventually close.  Unfortunately, we were linked up with 2 PFI hospitals which are seriously in debt.  Both pieces of land on which these buildings stand will be sold off to try and bring the debt down. Just setting the stage. Quite obviously, admin bods are trying to implement all sorts of cuts within the medical side which isn't going down well.  More admin than medical staff!!  This is all leading to misuse of hospital coffers.  Always wear the wonderful hospital gown which is supplied but now you are issued with another 'throw away' piece of attire. Have had the same procedure 4 times over 9 years and they were never thought necessary before. At what cost to the ailing NHS. Who thought that one up, I wonder?

One government after another doesn't seem to know what to do with the ailing NHS. How is it that we, the ordinary Joe Public, can see what needs to be done. I watched a programme some years back now, where Gerry Robinson went in and turned a hospital round.  It's a shame they don't take someone in the know to implement changes and get shot of all these overpaid admin bods who know nothing.

Rant ended.

Morning all.  Looking at the time of the last post, I would think everyone is either at work, play or busy doing something.

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes re yesterday.  Did say so yesterday, but a couple have mentioned it this morning.  Forgot to add that consultant has discharged me and I don't have to go any more.  That's after 9 years.  Was one of those things that wasn't nasty, but could be. So, unpleasant as it may have been, I was grateful for the followups I received.  The back by 10 wasn't home by the way, but into recovery room for my much appreciated coffee.

Hope Matty and Dove are feeling a bit better today and good luck to Bev.

Verdun!!!!!! How could you?  Even I couldn't manage 18 donoughts, even if they were mini ones.  6 huge shortbread biscuits, yes.

Got another wall to paint today.

The daftest thing you've done in your garden

Sounds about normal Shahnaz.  Aren't we Mum's always the butt of the jokes.  Bet it was getting near to meal time!!

Afternoon all. Thanks for thinking of me.  Twas like a conveyor belt this morning.  Arrived at 8.45 waited 5 mins to see Staff Nurse, details take, into hospital attire, round to have bloodpressure done and cannula fitted, first time, even though I had a crocked vein then off for the procedure.  Back by 10. Am very tired as I had very little sleep last night and now have a thumping headache.  So, rest is order of the day.

Well done WW.  It sounds as if those that went from here had a great time.  So pleased the weather held for you.  Not seen the pics yet.

Right, something to eat, then head down.

Bev, I understand totally.  I sit and think, right, tomorrow i will go to so and so, or visit whatsit's name, but when morning comes round, I do nothing, except go in the garden if it's OK and if not, fiddle about on laptop, read, do crosswords, etc.  Note that housework didn't come into the equasion. . Don't beat yourself up about it.

Kev, I'd love to weigh 11st. and I'm shrinking.  Started off at 5'4" but at the last count was 5'2". I'll soon be an Oompa Loompa.  I don' t drink at all so I can use all my syns (SW) on goodies, but I don't even do that these days.   I often wish I had never started dieting at the age of 15 as I may have stayed just as I was then.  I thought I was overweight but when an old schoolfriend sent me a photo of us, I realised I was fine.  Too late now.

Thanks Chicky. Sounds like you had a good day at WW's. Shame it was so far away.  So pleased the weather was good.  I bet he's whacked out.

Hi Bev. Sorry you're not feeling so good today.  Don't worry about not doing what you planned.  It just wasn't meant to be. I never plan anything or if I do, it never happens! I just go with the flow.
