you can grow them here without much trouble, they will die down every year but if you cover the crown from the hardest winters they should grow every year,start them in the spring the same time as tomatoes.plant south facing when large enough.

for the moles if you buy a musical card from the card shop and take the little music maker off it and put down the hole in a small plastic bag (to stop damp) the noise drives the moles away.tried and tested and it works.

the main problem with chickweed is that when you pull it out another one will grow in it's place,this is because the seed can lay dormant for 90 years or so and when a plant is removed a new plant will grow to fill the gap.that's why it looks as though it keeps coming back.
