Rose - Rob Scarlet - fungus question

Posted: 23/05/2014 at 14:13

Hi, I have a Rose Scarlet rose growing up my garage, it seems thick and growing well but it is showing a white fungus just below and covering the buds, and also the stem seems to be swelling into a lump just below bud in some areas.  Last year I had similar problem and so have given thick mulch, have fed well and sprayed with fungus and Uncle Tom.  It was not showing any symptoms at start of growth but this is now spreading.

Can anyone tell me what is causing this and what I can do?  It is a lovely rose, that gives a good display and I really want to save this.  Thank you.

Victoria Plum - deformed fruit

This is my Victoria Plum tree, which is 3 years old and kept in container on patio (south facing garden).  I am getting fruit, around 30 showing at the minute but more than half seem to be deformed and breaking their skin.  I had similar problem last year and followed advise on feeding and watering but cannot seem to resolve this.

Can anyone tell me what is causing this and what I need to do - should I be removing all the deformed fruit?   many thanks.
