Good Evening FORKERS

Posted: 08/08/2013 at 21:18

Evening all, Hope you've all been busy in your gardens.! I only managed a bit of weeding and dead heading this afternoon.  My ground cover roses are doing well this year but i find the flowers don't last long, so dead heading every day ! Picked and ate some of our Enorma runner beans- very nice too. I always enjoy the first meal with them, shop bought just are'nt the same are they ? Off to Shrewsbury Flower Show in the morning, i believe Chris Beardshaw will be there, night folks

Ground cover plants for a garden I'm never in

Hi Lindsay, Something like Cotoneaster maybe? Mine has white flowers in the summer followed by berries later in the year. It's evergreen and spreads quickly ,so smothers any weeds .

Has anyone seen a poppy like this before.....

I work at Luxury Lodges Wales and the gardener there pointed out lots and I mean LOTS of tiny froglets. There must be hundreds but how many will survive. they were quite near to the pond so hopefully they will be ok

Peter E17, You may just have solved  a problem for my neighbour & I. I was saying to her only yesterday that I had heard a strange noise in the back garden the night before last. Hard to explain it really , it was quite repetative, but it was 11pm and I did'nt fancy investigating at that time of night. I will google frog noises !

Good afternoon fellow gardeners. Sounds like we got away with the worst of the  bad weather last night, we had lots of rain but no thunder or lightening. The lawn has grown a lot in the last week so i think  it's time to get the mower out. Also got some broom to cut back and a clematis which needs to be tied in. Lovely and sunny here at the m,oment with a nice breeze.Enjoy the rest of the day !

Frog sighting :)

Just had a fright. ! A frog in the living room ! Took a while to catch it but froggie is now safely back in the garden. Don't know how it got in  though, either one of our cats brought it in or maybe sneaked in through the garage. Does anyone know what size gap they can get through ?
