Schefflera flower quite easily given the right conditions. Hardy Schefflera flower outdoor in the UK and produce viable seed. Not sure if you will get viable seed if no insect has pollinated the flowers. Yours is Schefflera arboricola variegata and is best indoors but can survive outside all year in frost free conditions.

Thanks! Do you know what I do with the flower once it has finished? Do I just cut it back? It's grown from the end of one of the three main shoots.

Here are a couple of photos of the tree in flower. Whilst the flowers are a little disappointing to look at, they are very fragrant.

I have an old Schleffera (at least ten years old), which is totally root bound and lives, largely neglected, in the window of my Salford apartment. Imagine my surprise when I noticed it's about to flower!! Has anyone else had a Schleffera flower indoors? Most of the research I've done suggests it's very rare.
