My mum has a fig tree outside it is in a very sheltered spot with the sun on it, last year she has some small pea size figs that didn't ripen, but this year she has had a fair few goof juicy figs.  I don't think she did any special it was just its location with so much sun on it

This was the first summer in our new house and garden an we had about 1-2 pounds of strawbs every day, but the amount of weeds are uncontrollable so that's why trying the polythene method as used by commercial growers

Unusual bush in my garden

I moved into a new home in may, it has a huge well stocked garden with full borders. There is a rather large bush in the border, it flowered around June with huge yellow flowers and the developed some rather large seed pods on the branches. Now the pods are opening and the seeds are the size of olives. Black and hard. Donay anyowho know what it is? When do I trim it back as it has really spread is summer, it currently stands over 2 meters high.
