Looks very apple tree to me - my apple tree had blossom - but there are no signs of fruit - I think another bad year for fruit growers.

Hi everyone - I've been busy in the garden this afternoon, cutting new edges to my borders, weeding the veg beds, tidying up the greenhouse in readiness to sow my biennals - only the fruit cage to weed tomorrow and brassica bed - can't wait to see my new Dahlias when they finally flower - I planted over 30 in one bed !

tulips in pots

I brought some really great Tulips last year and had a lovely show of them - I am in the process of drying them off with the hope that next year they will return ..I just hate throwing anything away. . but this wont stop me buying some more later in the year  - as I have plenty on my wish list which is growing by the day.  Bookatoo - I put some really old tulip bulbs on my compost last year and guess what they all came up in my compost - transferred them to pots and most of them flowered !

try looking at "Cortusa matthioli "   or  " Delphinium nudeicaule"   both these plants are small (8") high with upright erect stems.  They are both rockery plants - the flowers are very similar to your pictures. hope this helps
