Yes TERRI, try to get a generous rootball for stressfree transplant. Otherwise roots will  break up.  As with everything water really well,

Chuff, they need to grow into deep rich soil.  Over that membrane they will dry out

By tying stems down your montana will be less vigorous.  If you chopped it back now it will probably flower next year.

At least clear the holly and then look see how much montana you can cut

Right,,not sure about birds nesting there. Are you aware of any?

the priority is the holly it seems......not best timing for montana as it will flower in a few weeks, but I would totally clear it from the holly. To keep a nice clean shape I would deny the momtana any future encroachment.

Allowing climbers into evergreens rarely works well in my opinion....the host will always suffer if only by appearance. ,

Then shape the holly as you want it to be now

I would train the montana along the fence tying in all strong stems as they occur. ,

Clari, my blood is boiling at this situation.  Frustrating just reading about it.  This guy is a BULLY.  This guy is a THUG

I have come across similar nephew, in his first part time job whilst at college, was bullied too. Even though he hated my intervention at the time, his treatment vastly improved after that.   As with all bullies they are cowards too.  A bully cannot deal with being "bullied"

stand your ground and consider how you want to proceed.  Your right is to be paid on time.  Wish you well dealing with this.

this bird count!  For me the number of birds in the garden varies from hour to hour.  Lots of birds around but a bird count  based on a single hour can be misleading, even silly

I regularly check my potted plants and trays, whether outside or in gh, for little slugs hiding under them.  Where they come from I don't know but a single one (and often it will be just one) can be devastating.   Sod's law it will be your favourite plants attacked

A quick upturn of every pot once a week or so can make a heck of a difference.

Anyone done any gardening today?

Perennials in 9 cm pots.....go for 'em now

Ah!  You need to divide in early summer though.  This is ok as lupins are starting to go over.  Division much later,,for me anyway, is rarely successful
