Victoria Plum Problem

Posted: 01/09/2015 at 16:52
Plum tree is planted in fairly sheltered position but soil may be the problem as it is heavy clay. Gets loads of sunlight but as to feeding and watering I feed occasionally but leave it up to the weather for water. If I were to replant with better drainage do you think it would solve the problem? Tree is now 7ft tall!

Victoria Plum Problem

Can anyone help me with my problem. Bought a victoria plum tree 4 years ago which had three plums on the first year. Since then it neither blossoms not fruits and has poor quality leaves with lacy holes in them. Lately I noticed a branch had died and I removed it. Is it beyond help.

Thanks guys,
Do you think if I re-seed things will catch up. I hate having to buy plants as I had to do so last year through having a late start after greenhouse got blown down in severe gales and had to build poly tunnel.

I live in the north of England. In the past I have successfully raised seeds in my greenhouse. This year I tried in my poly tunnel, planting tomatoes, cabbage, sprouts, cucumber, broccolli. They all germinated but did not grow on. Is this a case of timing

Every year so far there have been holes in or through my potatoes. What is causing this and how can I prevent it this year.

Add any organic matter you can lay your hands on. Sharp sand, grit, old compost, mushroom compost as well as old straw bedding from stables. Remember that horse manure should always be well rotted before you add to the garden,.
