My pots of blueberries are constantly standing in water. I think your problem is in your original post where you say they are well-drained. They need to be well-watered at all times.

Don't worry the male flowers will dry up and drop off. No need to do anything.

Beware though, it has a nasty trick of breaking off just above the roots, so then it will grow again.
They are so easy to remove I certainly wouldn't waste weedkiller on them.

Might be better to re-sow. They are easy plants to raise.

I agree, I would imagine there is more concern about cut lilies in vases than lilies in the garden.

More like lime; but difficult to tell. The grape is the one without all the leaves.

Have you tried removing the metal plate with the holes and giving it a good clean? Then replace it.
Make sure you only fill the watering can with clean water.

Digging out is the best and most satisfying method. Burn the roots. The growth that comes through from the minor roots that are left behind will be weak and easy to remove.
I don't think a stump grinder is the right way to go; they aren't that kind of roots.
