If you've got worms it's good stuff

Honeysuckle like moist not dry, humus rich (greedy plants) and we'll draining, not soggy

I've extended my clumps this year to repeat such a super cheap plant

Hack it back if you like the thugs otherwise they do cultivars that promise to be tamer just can't remember names

I wouldn't worry too much about feeding the buddejla. They grow on waste ground quite happily. Cut off what is dead or dying, it should grow back stronger

Did you mix the honeysuckle compost in with the soil?  The compost retains moisture but too much compost can get waterlogged around the roots

I garden on sandy soil so I'm always generous but mix it in well

They do and they're usually eager to show, but be patient, and not too much water until they are skyward

Did you plant the right end up?

Forgot the pesticides, your buddleja looks healthy on its other stems so perhaps the weakened side got knocked? They have quite brittle stems and yours looks young still?

It should recover in time

As for the honeysuckle, it looks hungry with a small amount of damage maybe from the strong winds recently

Anyone done any gardening today?

Went to pot up 6 white pelargonium,  instead decided to plant Clematis jackmanii alongside Potentilla Summer Sorbet but had to yank out a rogue honeysuckle and move a fern.

Chance to improve the builder's rubble and hang another trellis for climbing rose, Virginia Creeper combo

Pelargoniums  can wait a day, bath now before IPL cricket
