Is this why you're doing a family border Matty? Plants relating to family memories?

Afternoon all. Just got home from work and went straight down the garden to check on the chucks and drrrrrrrrrrrr (drum roll) we have eggs. Whoop de do the girls have started laying! Am so excited, how sad am I lol! The neighbours must think I've lost the plot as I praised the girls and danced around the run!
Was hoping to get an hour in the garden but it has gone quite dark and trying to rain so I think it will just be a greenhouse check. Hope you all had a good day.

Hey chicky your magnolias are by far ahead of mine, I'm beginning to wonder whether I'll see anything of them this year! Also I planted 3 hostas last year and they survived the army of slugs that we had. They were all in the same border but so far only one has reappeared this year! Boo hoo!!!

Very windy night last night, I woke to hear a scraping and thudding noise, on investigation I found the wind had been carrying my plastic greenhouse from one side of the decking to the other. I was then out in my pj's and Wellies (very fetching!) dragging it indoors before it ended up next door. Luckily it was newly constructed so no trays or plants to salvage. On a plus note, today I managed to get home early to clear some ground of weeds in preparation for turfing, about a third left to do so I'm pleased with that. It was just lovely to be outside again. 2 long days now work wise so no gardening til Friday, lets hope it stays dry. Happy gardening all!

Back from my weekend conference, OH managed to prep a couple of veggie beds on Friday ( unable to do much as he's suffering from frozen shoulder!). Apparently it rained all day on Saturday and there has been showers today. I dont feel so bad about being stuck indoors all weekend now. Forecast is not brilliant so hoping to spend a little time each day in the greenhouse ( after work), at least we have lighter evenings now. Sweet dreams all

Heavy rain here this afternoon (just as I'd finished work)! Spent a little time with my girls ......bought 4 chucks at the weekend, a new venture for me..... No gardening done today. My sweet peas which I started off indoors are now out in the greenhouse but are really leggy, I've pinched the tops out, will they really improve???
I'm off to Coventry early tomorrow for the weekend, annual conference for work and forecast says that we are in for a warm Sunday so I will be dashing back home hopefully in time for a couple of hours in the garden late afternoon. Hope you all have a productive gardening weekend.
