Lawn - next steps

I've mown and raked my lawn, and now it looks like this (I think I've got all the thatch out but I'm not sure).

What are my next steps, do I leave it a few days and then re-seed the bare areas? Or should I be fertilizing what is there?

Planting Pieris seeds

Do I simply take a stem of the plant and peg it into the ground, with the leaves still showing, then sever it from the parent plant when it begins to grow on it's own?

Planting Pieris seeds

Hello,

As above really. I've got some Pieris seeds from a plant in my garden, and fancy having a go at planting them. However I have no idea how to do this, i.e. do the seeds like to be deeply in the soil or on the surface, when's the ideal time to plant etc?

Any help would be gratefully received!

Whats in my Keyhole!

Posted: 11/08/2014 at 22:16

Hello,

As above really, I have a door handle with a keyhole to outside. Something has taken to filling it with dried up leaves, to the point where when I took the door handle off to investigate it was full to bursting with leaves!

I've emptied it now, and blocked the hole up, I'm just curious as to what it might have been!

Anyone any ideas?

I'll admit I'm not the best with growing veg, but I'm pretty sure they shouldn't look like this? They look to be wilting to me but the soil is moist enough? I've got a picture bit can't post it from my phone!

Random plant appearing in garden

Throw some bread out for them occasionally (which is a seeded loaf!), so maybe thats it. I'll keep an eye on it in the next few weeks and see what grows!

Can anyone identify this plant/weed? It has thick rubbery leaves on it, and I'm not sure if it's something thats seeded, or a weed blown in the wind

I think so, I'm not too good on plant names! I was thinking that, guess I'll just wait and see once the weather gets a bit better!
