Gardeners World new season

Posted: 10/03/2013 at 00:43
I missed the programme and was so cross with myself.....but then I read this feed and saw the comment about I player......I really enjoyed it although I wish they would say how much things cost to replicate and maybe give ideas on how to do something similar on a smaller budget. Monty always makes me smile but joe just doesn't do it for me and Carol, bless her she's such a smiley person.....looking forward to next week....sky reminder is set to record

Lupins and delphiniums

Posted: 06/03/2013 at 15:59

My soil is full of clay but my Lupins have done great for the past couple of years. I grew them from seed and waited till they were quite big and really hardened off before I put them out though. I do get slugs just leke everyone else but to date...touch wood.....ive not lost a plant to them although they have a good chew. Ive actually just posted a pic of my lupins on another feed, such pretty plants

Just wanted to share this picture ive just found in my camera with you from my garden last summer. I grew these from seed the previous year and I had never grown anything before so you can imagine my excitement when for the second year running they came back as lovely as they did. They are right under my living room window and so pretty. I hope they are as lovely this year

Do you have a recycling centre near where you live, they sell compost that they have made......I have used it in the past and its very good. Much cheaper than buying it from a garden centre and you can get it delivered in bulk....Would be worth looking in to maybe. Have you thought about making your own?

Hi everyone, yes 3 years Wintersong.....be be totally honest it was only that long for 1 reason......when i built the first one I really built it as somewhere to put the green waste, not really thinking about the compost side of it, and me being me built it with 4 walls (no door !!!) it wasn't until my lovely elderly neighbour (who is very handy with wood) offered to help me alter it so that I could empty it......by the time i got round to emptying it this weekend it was full..... I now have 2 compost bins...WITH DOORS oh how the little things amuse me! lol
