What's the weather like in your area?

Posted: 26/04/2013 at 17:41

A nice sunny day here, blue skies and white cloud with no wind.

Plastic GH is full to bursting with germinating seeds. Mooli's enjoying the cool weather, sown only last week, several rows of seedlings have come up, under glass in a raised bed. Trying three different varieties this year, going for different colours...red, white and black.

Evening all. Home late this evening so just catching up on things.

Ever so pleased, just checked the heated propagator and all but one cucumber seed has come up. Have sown courgettes and squash this evening. Thinking ahead, does anyone know how you would cook spagetti squash.

Some of the plants which were potted up yesterday have gone over to damping off, should have waited till their roots were a bit more developed, some were still very tiny, never mind patience is a virtue, will wait longer before potting up the next batch.

Spring sweethearts

I've some very dainty dwarf tulips which came into flower today. Not at all like your traditional tulips, leaves are the same but flower heads are more a cross between a daff and tulip without the sticking out bit on daffs. They've produced 1 - 3 flower heads per stem.

Warm and sunny today. Did loads in the garden.

Oooh - Frank - Having never been to the races before, it could have been a disaster, I was thinking, jeans, t-shirt and four seasons coat. So pleased after discussion with two older brother's...I bought a new outfit...did my nails and had hair done on Friday....

Had such a good time may do ladies day next year...

On a lighter note there is another exclusive club  which Verdun and I are members of, it's a club with no face but you do need to have brown hair and wear a blue T-Shirt

Was just leaving, will get my coat.

What has happened???

It would appear I'm one of the 'out crowd' as I was never invited in with the 'in crowd'.

That is appalling Verdun to be asked to disown a particular member publicly, can't image anyone who posts on here who deserves that kind of treatment, if people are not happy with a poster they can post direct to the people who run the site.

Like you Pam, I joined the forum several years ago and like the easy way we can interact with like minded gardeners. I don't go on face book or twitter.

If this site does close and you find a good one do post me a PM would be happy to join you and that goes for anyone in the out crowd. And on that note I'll put on my coat.

Nearly fotgot, my first tulips appeared today. A dwarf mix variety, some have three flowers, not at all like traditional tulips, quite dainty and ever so nice. Will check out the Spring Sweethearts thread and make it my mission this year to learn how to post pics.

Lost and found in your garden

Posted: 07/04/2013 at 20:00

I'v some lost plants not yet found, a hosta, I know where it was planted and last year it did put out a few leaves but it's not there now, couldn't find it when turning over the soil. I've two more in another part of the garden planted as bare roots last year but the grounds swallowed those up too.  Also lost a 'Bleeding Heart'. Three were planted but only two coming up this year and one of those is a little reluctant.

Have at least four prs of secatuers, the shed eats those. Bought a pink handled pr but they are already lost and likely not to be found until the shed gets it's next clear out.

What has happened???

Now if I told you that Sam, I'd have to shoot you either that...or... I'd be shot down myself

Not caught up on todays events but it wasn't very pleasant yesterday, I was thinking of taking a break from the forum. Don't think posters realise the impact these negative intersctions are having on poster who just come on site to talk 'gardening'.

Seems, there are quite alot of issues

Visited big brother this morning. He's had his spuds in the GH for weeks and they were romping away, so on the strength of that, bit the bullet and planted the first spuds of the year, two bags are tucked up now in the GH. Onions also went out with a small space left for leeks.

Potted up lots of seedlings and planted out cornflowers which were begining to get a bit pot bound. Very productive day.
