Plant details
This beautiful American conifer makes a stunning specimen tree. It has soft, bluish green leaves, that point upwards and forwards along the shoots. These are complemented by cylindrical cones, which reach up to 12cm (5in) in length. These are mid-green, yellow, pale violet or olive-green when young, and ripening to a rich chocolately brown. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit.
