Plant details
Sometimes know as 'Copper Carpet'. A striking evergreen carpeting plant with metallic-tinted, bronze foliage shaded with purple. In summer the plants are topped by insignificant flowers on short stalks which gradually mature to make masses of spiky, brilliant red burrs generously dotted over the leafy background. These last late into autumn, fading gradually as they age. Excellent ground cover for a rock garden, sunny bank or anywhere the soil is very well-drained superb with dwarf spring bulbs or miniature shrubs. Also excellent for growing in gravel paths or cracks between paving slabs.
