Acer palmatum 'Osakazuki' is one of the best Japanese maples to grow for autumn colour. It has an open habit and large, bright green leaves which turn a brilliant scarlet in autumn, lasting for several weeks before falling. It's perfect for growing as a focal point in the garden or in a mixed shrub border.

Like other Japanese maples, Acer palmatum 'Osakazuki' thrives in partial shade. For best results grow in moist but well-drained soil and shelter from cold winds. It's well suited to growing in a large container, as long as it's kept well watered.
