Kiwi is an attractive deciduous climbing plant, which works well as an ornamental plant. Egg-shaped, home-grown kiwis are delicious and rich in vitamin C. Plants are vigorous growers and thrive in a sheltered sunny position. Grow male and female cultivars to ensure good pollination, or opt for a self-fertile variety, if you're short on space.

Actinidia deliciosa 'Jenny' is the only self-fertile, hardy kiwi variety available. Heart-shaped, green leaves with red tips are followed by clusters of small white flowers in summer. Kiwis are ready to harvest in August and September.
