Plant details

This light and airy plant from the Mediterranean deserves a prominent site in the garden. It is grown for its attractive, five-lobed, hairy, green leaves and pinkish-lavender blooms with purple-red stamens that appear throughout summer. Whilst obviously related, no-one is going to mistake this plant for a hollyhock.
