One of the joys of early spring the lovely Anemone blanda, from the Eastern Mediterranean where, long before the tourists arrive, it graces rocky places, shrub and open woodland in sheets of colour. The delightful flowers, like large daisies have a dozen or more. 'Radar' has pink-puple flowers with white centres and has given an Award of Garden Merit (AGM), which is for plants of outstanding excellence.
