Rue anemone, Anemonella thalictroides, is a delightful woodland plant native to North America, which produces pink-tinged white flowers through spring and early summer. The flowers contrast nicely with the dark green-blue leaves.

Anemonella thalictroides 'Double White' bears fully double flowers with pure white petals. The flowers develop a central spot of apricot with age. For best results, grow in informal parts of the garden, amongst shrubs, or on the shady side of a rock garden. Plants take quite a while to become established, but thereafter they start to spread.
