Plant details

Completely different from any other Aster species we list is this beautiful late summer bloomer, which is actually a rare British native. Its slender stems are densely clad with very narrow, almost grass-like leaves and by August the first of its small golden flowers will start to open, covering the plant for several weeks. As you would expect from a native plant, it needs no mollycoddling, just a well drained soil and plenty of sun.
