A very fine dense, evergreen, good for hedging, with clusters of slightly scented, yellow flowers in spring set against the strong, spiny stems, and stiff, spine-toothed leaves that are copper-tinted when young. Clusters of small black berries coated in a white bloom provide interest in late summer and autumn.
