Plant details

This is a very easy going shrub that will do well in any situation or soil. It's one of the more attractive barberries with small, rounded, reddish-purple leaves marbled with pink and white. It is dense, with a rounded shape, and loads of spines to act as a barrier to any intruders into the garden. 'Rose Glow' is a good choice for an informal hedge and where the bright foliage colour is needed to liven up an area. You can trim it during the growing season to keep it in shape.

I cut mine back every year and get jabbed a few times with the spikes, is there any toxins in the plant because i get a tenderness and aching in the area which lasts for a couple of weeks,or maybe its me thats allergic to the plant.
