Most spring cabbage varieties eventually produce solid hearts, and it is usual to transplant seedlings at close spacing so that alternate plants can be used as loose greens, leaving the others to mature as small hearted cabbages. 'Offenham 2' is a hardy cabbage with conical shaped heads. Sow seeds from late July to early August, planting out in to their final positions from September to October. The cabbages should be ready to cut the following spring.
