Plant details
Most spring cabbage varieties eventually produce solid hearts and it is usual to transplant seedlings at close spacing so that alternate plants can be used as loose greens, leaving the others to mature as small hearted cabbages. 'Spring Hero' has very hard, dark green heads with white, cripsy hearts. Sow seeds from mid-August onwards, planting out into their final positions from September to October. The cabbages should be ready to cut the following spring.
