Plant details
This is an elegant species with slim arching stems. The flowers are yellow to rich violet, quite long, slender and individually beautiful, loosely carried in long curving spikes at the ends of the branches. The bushes are neat and shapely, deserving a prominent position in a border, especially against a dark background such as an evergreen hedge. The flowers appear on the young stems, but there is no need to prune hard every year if plants have the space to develop, although they eventually become coarse if left untended.
