Plant details

This interesting sedge forms dense tussocks of narrow, bronze-brown leaves. It is a versatile grass that is happy in most situations in sun or shade. The small inconspicuous flowers are borne in summer over its evergreen foliage. Its colour and elegant form make it particularly useful for winter containers where it looks good planted with spring bulbs and ivies. It is also useful for providing winter interest in the herbaceous border when other plants have died back. Like most perennial grasses it will benefit from a tidy up in the spring to remove any dead foliage and encourage new growth.
