This cultivar is a large, evergreen shrub with small, oblong, dark green leaves. In late spring, dark-blue flowers are produced from reddish purple buds. In very cold winters plants may be damaged by frost. In colder areas of the UK they need some shelter at this time. Plants look stunning trained against a wall of a house, and grow well in full sun and light, well-drained soil. Cut dead wood in the spring and trim their side-shoots after flowering.
