Plant details
Chamaecyparis thyoides, White cypress, is a narrowly conical tree. It is slow growing, only growing 30cm (12in) a year in favourable conditions. 'Andelyensis Nana' is also conical tree with blueish green leaves. It will suit small gardens and can be teamed with low spreading conifers and heathers to make a classic conifer garden, or used as a specimen plant. Don't plant anything tall round the base of the lower leaves, which will turn brown due to shading.
