Spider plants are one of the easiest houseplants to grow. They are grown for their colourful foliage and look good in containers or hanging baskets, either in the house or conservatory. Grow in loam-based potting compost, in bright, but not direct, sunlight. 'Variegatum' has long, linear, green leaves with white margins.

The picture here is Chlorphytum comosum 'Vittatum', which has green margins and a central white stripe. The decription (not the picture) is Chlorophytum comosum 'Variegatum', with white margins on green leaves.
