Plant details
This tough clematis will face up to the coldest winter weather, making it perfect for exposed spots. A seedling of Clematis alpina 'Ruby', it produces purple-pink, semi-double flowers in mid- to late spring. Later in the year, whiskery seed-heads decorate its stems. Pruning is not essential. However removing any dead or weak growth in early summer will encourage strong new growth.
