Introduced in 1998, 'Avalanche' is a superb early flowering variety. A strong, vigorous plant is hardy to -8°C (18°F) in well-drained soil. From early to mid-spring, it is covered in masses of pure white flowers which contrast beautifully with the dark green, dissected leaves.

I have this variety and have to say it's a stunning clematis, with an abundance of flowers throughout the spring, everyone comments on it - yet I do very little to it!!
