Plant details
Gravetye Beauty' has flowers like ruby red, upside-down tulips or 5cm (2in) long curly edged bells. As a smaller growing clematis, it is ideal for people with small gardens or who want something easily manageable for growing on trellis, over arches or pergola poles, or up through shrubs (where it is outstanding). It can also be grown in large pots filled with John Innes No3 compost, given the support of an obelisk or adjacent trellis. Cut back hard in early spring each year - this keeps plants compact and tidy, and ensures flowers grow at a suitable height to enjoy.
