Plant details

Clematis come in all shapes and sizes. C. x aromatica is a herbaceous type that dies down to ground level every winter. Small, violet-blue flowers appear in July to September with prominent tufts of golden stamens that spring out from the centre of the bloom. It is clear from its name that this clematis is heavily scented, so plant it near a path to enjoy its wonderful smell.
