Chrysanthus Hybrids, though smaller than other crocuses, open up on a sunny day and with their bright flowers announce spring is near! 'Advance' is an early-flowering hybrid with several blooms suffused with violet on the outside of the petals and golden yellow inside. Plant bulbs in autumn, 8cm to 10cm (3in to 4in) deep in poor, gritty, well-drained soil in a sunny spot.
