Chrysanthus hybrids, though smaller than other crocuses, open up on a sunny day and with their bright flowers announce spring is near! The blooms of 'Blue Pearl' appear in spring and are white blooms with soft lilac-blue outsides. Plant bulbs in autumn, 8-10cm (3-4in) deep in poor, gritty, well-drained soil in a sunny spot.
