Plant details
This choice crocus has lilac-coloured flowers with white and yellow centres. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it their prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM) which is for plants of outstanding excellence. Like most other crocus, it is ideal for naturalising and looks wonderful in large drifts. Alternatively it can be grown in a pot or pan, topped with grit, so that the delicate blooms can be admired at close quarters. Plant bulbs in autumn, 8-10cm (3-4in) deep in poor, gritty, well-drained soil. A sunny spot is important as sunshine will make the blooms open fully.
