Summer squashes are different to winter pumpkins and ornamental gourds, the fruit is usually soft-skinned, especially when young, and may be eaten raw or cooked. 'Sweet Dumpling' has white fruit with a green stripe. They grow to a diameter of 10cm (4in), have a sweet flesh but taste better baked.
