Plant details

Echinaceas have grown in popularity in recent years, thanks to the new trend for prairie-style planting. They're easy to grow as they tolerate most soils, and their sturdy nature means that staking is unnecessary.

Echinacea 'Sunset' bears bright orange petals encircling a prominent brown cone. Its long-lived flowers are excellent for cutting and are attractive to bees. Grow in drifts through the centre of the border, with ornamental grasses or in large containers, in full sun.
