Plant details
This clump-forming perennial makes a welcome addition to any border with it sconspicuously silver-veined dark green leaves. From mid to late summer the usual blooms appear. Silver bracts, surrounded by a spiky collar, are produced on blue branching stems. It grows well in poor, well-drained soil in full sun. Protect plants from winter wet. To use the blooms for dried flower arrangements, cut the flowers before they are fully open.
