Euonymus japonicus 'Chollipo' is an evergreen shrub with glossy, variegated green and cream leaves. Its fast growth and upright habit make it a popular choice for using as a hedge, as screening and also using as a foil for more colourful garden plants. It's suitable for shaping into topiary forms, and can also be grown in a container.

Unlike other varieties of Euonymus japonicus, 'Chollipo' rarely produces flowers and fruits.

Tolerant of salt spray, Euonymus japonicus 'Chollipo' is an excellent choice for coastal regions. It's also drought tolerant, once established, making it ideal for dryer situations, and can handle poor soil and heat well. However it has almost no wildlife value – its glossy leaves remain untouched by insects and so its not a suitable plant for attracting birds or other species such as hedgehogs.

Grow Euonymus japonicus 'Chollipo' in moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Trim annually to maintain a good shape.
